Health History

Chiropractic is best known for great success in treating back and neck pain. However, the scope of chiropractic extends beyond these complaints, and we want to know all about any muscular-skeletal problems you have.

The slightest vertebral misalignment will put pressure on the nerves, contributing to the creation of a symptom. Chiropractic techniques are highly effective for treating headaches, high blood pressure, PMS, stress, immune system problems, and many other common afflictions. So on your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a health history to help us better understand the nature of your condition.

Consultation & Examination

The purpose of the consultation is twofold: First, the doctor will review your case history, so that we can gain a thorough understanding of your current goals. Second, it will begin the patient-education process. It is important for you to understand how your treatment program is intended to work, permanently healing the cause of your problem, rather than simply masking symptoms with prescription drugs.

During the examination, the doctor will assess not only the cause of your complaint, but the condition of your spine. Our intention is to treat your body as a whole entity. During this process, we often discover underlying problems that have not yet shown up as a symptom.

Some of the tests may be familiar to you, for example, checking reflexes and ranges of motion. Other tests are specific to chiropractic. None of them involves any discomfort to the patient.

X-ray

New Life Chiropractic Clinic is equipped with a state-of-the-art, computerized X-ray department. Our machine automatically measures your body and determines all necessary factors by computer, so that your exposure is kept to a minimum.

Many chiropractors do not use X-rays, however at New Life Chiropractic Clinic, we will not treat a patient without first seeing an X-ray (with the exception of pregnant women and young children). Because to see is to know, while not to see is to guess. And we will not guess about your health.

Report of Findings

While we develop your X-rays, your education process continues with a video that explains more about your care. Then we will go over the X-rays with you in detail to explain the nature of your problem, its cause and the steps we will take to correct it. We will discuss with you the proposed treatment schedule, and explain the reasons behind our approach to treating your condition.

Adjustment

Chiropractic adjustment is the method with which we realign the vertebrae, thereby relieving any pressure on the nervous system and restoring normal nerve function. We adjust almost all of our new patients on their first visit, and the healing process begins immediately.
